1. Why am I a %%%member%%% partner?

Your status is based in-part on the Total Payment Volume (TPV) that your merchants processed through PayPal last year minus any chargebacks, refunds, and reversals.

Platinum Partner
JPY 300 million TPV in previous year
Gold Partner
JPY 100 million TPV in previous year
Member
PayPal TPV under JPY 100 million or a new partner to PayPal

You should have been notified through email of your membership status. If you do not have that information, please contact us at Japan Partner Support. PayPal reviews the status of its partners half-yearly in June and December. If you’ve reached the TPV threshold for Gold or Platinum partners and have completed the respective integration and marketing requirements by 15 December 2009 or 15 June 2010, PayPal will consider upgrading you to the higher partner tier.

2. What is PayPal Total Payment Volume (TPV)?

PayPal TPV (total payment volume) means the net merchant sales calculated as the sum of payments with the Partner Button Source Code made to a merchant through PayPal's Express Checkout API, or Website Payments Standard HTTP form post that are paid to the merchant's PayPal account, minus any chargebacks, refunds, and reversals. PayPal TPV excludes any payments processed through PayPal Mobile services or on or in connection with the eBay marketplace.

3. How will I know how much PayPal TPV I have transacted through my service?

Each month, you'll have access to reporting through the Partner Program Website showing you how much volume your merchants processed through PayPal. The report will also show your revenue share based on your PayPal TPV.
